Lingerie is basically innerwear for women, but it is different from the normal boring cotton inners that are conjured up before our vision, in the shape of regular wear and granny inners.

Lingerie is basically inner wear with a hint of sexiness and sensuality, frills and laces, sheer fabrics and stretch Lycra or spandex, corsets and g strings, thongs and push ups, camisoles and suspenders, strapless or silicon bras and fishnet stockings.

Every year we witness new trends in fashion, in garments and on the ramps and in the fashion magazines. Similarly every season or every year new trends also break the monotony of lingerie models. For e.g. in 2007, the hottest lingerie trend was mini shorts. Thongs have always remained popular as have been push ups and backless bras.

Corsets made their come back on the ramp in a big way a few years back and are still reigning supreme. Corsets, in various colors and designs are usually teamed with g strings or mini shorts and suspenders.

2008 saw metallic colored lingerie creating a splash on the ramp – jewel toned lingerie, or golden or ivory corsets or beige and even nude colored lingerie. This was the latest rage in lingerie models this season. Now to come to the models who strut their bootylicious stuff in skimpy sexy lingerie and sashay down the ramp.

Gisele Bundchen, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Tyra Banks and a host of other Hollywood celebrities and celebrities from the fashion fraternity have been the perennial favorites of designers and high street fashion houses the world over.
